This Watercolor painting was created as a donation to Elevate Aviation, a Canadian non-profit supporting women in aviation. It recently sold for above-value in their annual silent auction fundraiser. Prints of this special piece are available. The Supermarine Spitfire was a British single-seat fighter aircraft used by the Royal Air Force and other Allied countries before, during, and after World War II. During the Battle of Britain in 1940, Spitfires were generally tasked with engaging Luftwaffe fightersmainly Messerschmitt Bf 109E-series aircraft. Much loved by its pilots, the Spitfire operated in several roles, including interceptor, photo-reconnaissance, fighter-bomber, and trainer, and it continued to do so until the 1950s. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supermarine_Spitfire
